The first time special event, an “Off the Wall” Evening with the Heinzerling Foundation, attracted more than 100 guests and generated nearly $40,000 in proceeds all of which will benefit the Heinzerling residents. It took place at the Columbus Museum of Art on Saturday, January 28. A pre-event VIP Red Carpet reception was held at 6:30 p.m. to give guests the opportunity to “meet and greet” Nannette V. Maciejunes, Executive Director of the Columbus Museum of Art. In addition, Melissa Wolfe, the Associate Curator of American Art, gave a presentation on the museum’s new Schiller Collection. VIP guests enjoyed hors d'oeuvres, an open bar and the music of a strolling violinist.

The main event began at 7:30 p.m. in the museum’s extraordinary Derby Court. Guests enjoyed the ambience of the museum and the fantastic art collections, the music of the Dave Powers Trio, delicious food, complimentary champagne, an “off the wall” silent auction and the 2005 Best of the Best Photos courtesy of The Columbus Dispatch.

The highlight of the evening was a display of artwork that was created by the Heinzerling Foundation residents. The guests thoroughly enjoyed the display and each piece was quickly bid upon and sold through the silent auction.
